The ashkatch List of curated Sustainable Travel Essentials

Traveling soon? Trying to up your sustainability game? I am so excited to be sharing about so many amazing companies doing good for this world. Note: this is not a sponsored post but I did get everything mentioned in this post for free.

Without further ado, the ashkatch curated list of travel essentials.

Hiptipico’s Camera Strap:
First on the list is an essential that I can’t stop beaming about: Hiptipico’s camera strap. Hiptipico is a social company that sells hand-made products from the indigenous people of Guatemala. Their mission is to make a way for quality artisan good to reach the global fashion market. They sell bags, clothes, and much more; I’m obsessed with all their products, like the fringe cape. Visit their website here or check out their Instagram to see a mosaic of beautiful products.

LOVE GOODLY Subscription Box:
First of all, can we just admire how cute the branding of LOVE GOODLY is? The great thing about LOVE GOODLY’s subscription boxes is that everything is natural, vegan, cruelty-free, and healthy! The box ever came with a vegan protein bar (they know I’m trying to up my gym game).

One of the products in the August/September subscription box is Johnny Concert’s eye shadow in the color “Metal Rebel.” This is absolutely a travel essential because it’s light-weight and is a natural shade which looks good with any of your capsule wardrobe outfits. I don’t travel with a lot of makeup, maybe just with something like Metal Rebel, mascara, and a BB cream. 30 seconds later, you’re ready to hit the clubs in Europe. All Johnny Concert shadows are vegan and cruelty-free. They are also made with natural and certified organic ingredients and made in the USA!

Conscious Coconut Coconut Oil:
Next up, by a brand I think is absolute sustainable-business-goals, is Conscious Coconut’s coconut oil. First of all, every tube you buy feeds a child in need. And, as you already know, there is a million uses for coconut oil. You can use it for face wash, makeup remover, under eye cream, sun spot reduction, face and body moisturizer, hair conditioner, substitute for butter, and you can even sweeten your coffee with it.

So, a couple really awesome things about this company: they are USDA organic, they are fair-trade certified, the coconut oil is cold pressed and virgin, and the tube is carry-on ready.

Bucky Compact Neck Pillow:
I can’t wait to use this on my next flight to Australia. I can’t sleep on planes; my body will not sleep sitting up. BUT I’ve never tried to use a neck pillow. The neck pillow has a snap loop you can connect to a backpack. You can also remove the cover and wash it. The mullet holes in the neck pillow are a sustainable material. They are eco-friendly, thermosensitive, hypoallergenic, and provide stellar neck support.

Bucky Sleep Mask:
Can I get an amen about eye masks? What I love initially is that the strap around your head is Velcro which makes is suitable for every head size. Additionally, the cups around the eyes are molded away from your eyes so your lashes don’t get squished. Also, it’s really light weight, washer-friendly, and hypoallergenic. The crazy thing about this eye mask is that you can’t see anything when you’re wearing it. It’s pitch black. Plus, the blue color I have compliments my olive skin tone. If you watch my YouTube video version, you’ll see it also doubles as a cute headband.

House of Marley Smile Jamaica Earbuds:
This is really the essential of all essentials: earbuds. For a demonstration of how awesome these earbuds are, watch my YouTube version of this article here. These earbuds are tangle-resistant, which, if you use earbuds as much as I do, really does improve your daily routine. The cord for these earbuds are longer than my iPhone earbuds, which means I dn’t have to worry about the earbuds ripping out of my ears every time I move my head. The earbuds are made from FSC-certified wood, which means the wood is from a sustainable wood source. Additionally, the aluminum housing is recyclable.

If you want to see my testing out the earbuds and dancing in public, watch my weekend vlog here.

Siestas for Fiestas Blanket:
This is something I really wish I had when I was in Europe last month (You were in Europe???). These blankets are SO CUTE and would have upped my Instagram game 100%. I don’t travel with a towel; they are too heavy and take up too much room. I just use a wash cloth to wash and dry my body. But there were so many times where I was at the beach and just had nothing to sit one. Crickets.

The amazing part of this product is that every purchase of these blankets provides a Christmas meal for a family in Mexico. The fuchsia is gorgeous but there are a variety of other colors. You can also use the blanket as a wrap if it’s cold outside. This blanket is light-weight, compact, and cozy. Not to mention how cute this could be in the gift bags for a bachelorette weekend.

Aladdin Earthscapes Reusable Water Bottle:
These reusable water bottles are vibe goals. Aladdin reached out to me and sent me the cutest gift box with a water bottle, air plant, and coupon code for YOU. I don’t know how they knew I was so low-maintenance I am when they sent the air plant too but I’m obsessed. The Aladdin Earthscapes collection has so many cute water bottles and tumblers but the ocean skin in my favorite. Aladdin recently partnered with the Nature Conservancy in an effort to show their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
